How do i make my task bar horizontal again instead of vertical?

My task bar is vertical instead of horizontal. I don't know how it got that way and so I don't know how to fix it. How does that happen anyway? Best answer for the one who answers thoroughly in lamens terms.

please....no trolls|||Simply left click and drag it back to the bottom, make sure "Lock the Taskbar" is not checked (right click on it to find out).|||Right click it and make sure the menu item "Lock the taskbar" does not have a check mark to the right (otherwise, click it to disable the lock). Then drag the taskbar down.
