We are trying to do this:

the bottom of the page has the latest blog entries scrolling along. Our home page is not part of the blogging system - so we'd like our latest entries to scroll like that.

If your blog site allows javascript, you can use it to set up a scroll like that.
Ron|||That's a Flash animation. The whole thing is Flash. Thus, it is done in Flash.
You can find JavaScript-based scrollers out there. Most people would use jQuery.
